DESCRIPTION:Announcement from the Autocross Chair – April 20\, 2020 \nI regret to inform you that we will be cancelling our Season Kickoff Autocross Test-n-Tune #1 event\, which was scheduled for May 3 at Brady Street Stadium in Davenport\, IA. \nFollowing discussion with our contact at Davenport Community Schools\, and discussion amongst the GRR Autocross Committee\, we simply do not have enough confidence that social distancing restrictions will be lifted in time to allow the event to proceed safely. In order to maintain a positive relationship with the community\, our venue owners\, and our membership\, we feel it is not prudent to push for having this event under the current circumstances. \nFor those who have registered online\, your account has not been charged for the event\, and no further action will be needed. \nAt the moment\, we are still planning to go ahead with the rest of our scheduled 2020 Autocross season. DESCRIPTION:The Sports Car Club of America® has officially announced the 2019 SCCA® National Championship Runoffs® will be held October 8-13 at beautiful VIRginia International Raceway (VIR) in Alton\, Virginia. This will be the very first time the Runoffs has been held at the sprawling venue located near the border of Virginia and North Carolina. \n“We’re thrilled to take amateur racing’s most prestigious event to one of the most beautiful and challenging racetracks in the country\, returning it to the Eastern United States for the first time since 2015\,” said Eric Prill\, SCCA Vice President & COO.  “The VIR visit continues SCCA’s current practice of moving the Runoffs to different locations around the country each year.  And with the amazing track\, facility and backdrop VIR offers\, we’re sure the Runoffs will be a ‘must-attend’ for our entire membership and racing fans alike in 2019\, and a fantastic way to cap SCCA’s 75th anniversary year.” \nRecognized as one of Car and Driver magazine’s top six road courses in the nation\, VIR draws thousands of spectators each year for some of the best road racing in the country. Its uphill Esses and sharp elevation changes not only make it a fan and driver favorite\, but VIR has also received international acclaim and rave reviews as one of the most exciting road courses in all of motorsports. \nConnie Nyholm\, VIR’s Owner and CEO\, noted that the track first opened in 1957 as one of the country’s first permanent road racing circuits. SUMMARY:Road Rally Milw Roads Scamper Divisional Tour 2019
DESCRIPTION:SCCA Milwaukee Region Presents \nRoads Scamper Divisional Tour Road Rally \nSunday\, June 9\, 2019 \nJoin your fellow RoadRally enthusiasts for this 120 mile time-speed-distance Divisional Tour RoadRally in the beautiful Wisconsin countryside.  You and your rally partner will enjoy a scenic rally adventure through the marvelous country roads north of Madison\, Wisconsin.  This rally will use the new Richta GPS autonomous checkpoint app.  Contestants will download the app to their smartphone in advance of the rally.  During the rally this app will use the GPS signals and automatically record your arrival time at each checkpoint and then display your score to you!!  No more waiting until the rally is over to find out how you did.  A bonus feature of this Richta GPS checkpoint system is that we can provide you with many more checkpoints and more challenging checkpoint locations.  Expect close to 100 checkpoints in this 120 mile rally. Contestants will need a smartphone in order to run this event.  If you’re planning to run another rally app during the event\, you’ll need to do that on a separate device.  The Richta GPS checkpoint app needs to be the only app running on your phone during the rally. \nThis is a tour type rally\, so there are no tricks or traps. \nThere is a 24 car limit on this rally and we expect it will sell out. \nStarting location:  Country Inn and Suites\, 2212 Deming Way\, Middleton\, Wisconsin. \nSchedule:\nCheck-in – 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM Sunday\, June 9\, 2019 \nFirst Car Off – 9:01 AM  Sunday\, June 9\, 2019\nFirst Car Finished – Approx 1:30 pm at the Dorf Haus Supper Club\, Roxbury\, Wisconsin \nCost:  $35/car for SCCA members\,  $40/car if neither contestant is an SCCA member\, 2 people per car required. \nPre-registration is required for this event.  General Instructions will be emailed to all registered contestants 2 weeks prior to the event. \nWant further information on Roads Scamper?  Contact the rallymaster:  Jim Crittenden  at   james.a.crittenden@gmail.com
