However\, the event will be temporarily suspended while lightning is observed in the immediate area. Please bring appropriate rain/cold/hot/sunny weather gear. Make sure you also bring something to cover and/or secure your gear while it is not in your car (plastic garbage bags or a tarp)\n\nNote: Novice Class drivers run with their standard class (ie. N-STX would run & work with STX). \nNote: Ladies Class drivers run with their standard class (ie. L-STX would run & work with STX). \nNote: Though we try to avoid making changes whenever possible\, you must listen for announcements in case a class has changed it’s Run/Work Heats. \n\nBasic Event Guidelines and Safety \n\nA valid drivers license is required in order to participate\, please bring drivers license with you to registration.  Temporary permits are allowed if parent/guardian remains present while driving.\nPlease note that our insurance doesn’t allow tippy vehicles like SUVs. Please consult the 2017 SCCA Solo Rulebook section 3.1 and the beginning of Appendix A.  Regardless of the listing\, all vehicles may be subjected to the Height/Width check by the SSS’s on-site.\nAll vehicles must pass safety inspection on the following points prior to running: working seat belts\, throttle return action\, secure battery\, *no* leaks\, adequate brake pedal\, tire condition\, tie-rods\, and wheel bearings.\nAll loose items\, snap-on hubcaps\, detachable fender skirts\, speaker boxes\, center caps\, and trim rings must be removed.\nClosed toe shoes are required (no sandals or flip-flops) while driving.\nHelmets are required (Snell M2005/SA2005 or newer)\, we do have limited loaners available.  If you don’t know the rating of your helmet you can look inside for a sticker\, just may need to pull back some of the padding to locate the sticker. DESCRIPTION:The Learning Curve is a bit different than the average autocross event. The goal with this 2-Day Instructional Course is to get folks who are new to racing to be more comfortable with the process and nuances so they can be more focused on racing and having fun while at the race. An autocross can be a stressful day if you aren’t prepared\, and by the end of this weekend you will be ready for pretty much anything that could come your way on race day. \n———-\nSaturday Schedule:\n7:30am to 8:00am     Registration and Check-in (if there is room for Walk-ups\, please plan to be here at 7:30 to sign-up day of)\n8:00am to 5:00pm      School \nWe will have a lunch break midday. \nSunday Schedule:\n7:00am to 7:45am     Check-in \n7:45am to 8:00am      Driver’s meeting with Students and Instructors\, please meet up with your Instructor as early as possible in the morning\n8:00am to 5:00pm      School \nWe will have a lunch break midday. \nWe typically finish up around 5:00pm but there is potential variability in this. \nEntry Fees:\n$135 for Chicago Region SCCA Member Early Registration (closes two days before event at midnight) \n$150 for Non-Member Early Registration (closes two days before event at midnight) — Cost Includes SCCA Weekend Membership \nFree – For Chicago Region SCCA Members who are willing to volunteer their time to help facilitate the event. \n**If you are not a Chicago Region SCCA Member and elect for one of the non member options – you will be given a form at the event that will entitle you to a discount off annual membership for the cost incurred for your weekend membership.** \n\nPRE-REGISTRATION: \n\nCheck in at the pre-registration line and sign the waiver. You and your guests MUST sign the waiver.\nIf changes need to be made to your personal information or car information\, you must do so at Registration to update your information BEFORE your car is teched.\nGet a work assignment from the worker chief. ALL COMPETITORS MUST GET A WORK ASSIGNMENT! Failure to complete your work assignment will result in DSQ’ing of your runs. Additionally\, you may be prevented from running with CR-SCCA in the future.\nProceed to Technical Inspection (Tech) with your car race ready! That is\, all loose items must be removed and magnetic numbers or contrasting tape applied to the body panels of the car.\n\nREGISTRATION: \n\nRegistration closes at 8:15. If you are not in the registration line by 8:15\, you will not be able to compete.\nYou must be at least 16 years old and have a valid driver’s license to enter. All entrants and guests MUST sign the waiver.\nDrivers’ under 18 must have a Minor Waiver completed for each event. Minor Waivers must be completed by the driver and the parent/guardian in the presence of a board member at registration.\nYou will confirm car\, and class information along with making sure you have the correct number.\nAfter checking and returning your driver’s license\, the registrar will sign you off on their list and the computer operator will confirm and/or enter your information into the computer. After being entered into the computer\, you will need to proceed to the Tech Line. Your car must be race ready BEFORE entering the Tech line. That is\, all loose items must be removed and contrasting magnetic material or tape designating correct number and class applied to the body panels of the car.\nIf you do not have tape or magnetic numbers\, please ask around\, or have someone at registration ask for you. Most of the folks you find at an event are super friendly and asking for tape is a great way to make new friends.\nGet a work assignment from the worker chief. ALL COMPETITORS MUST GET A WORK ASSIGNMENT! Failure to complete your work assignment will result in DSQ’ing of your runs. DESCRIPTION:The Solo driver’s school will begin with a classroom session at Kelly’s Bleacher’s\, 5218 W. Bluemound Rd. Milwaukee\, WI. This will cover the basics of autocrossing\, including safety\, car classes and course working. We then get into reading a course map\, car control techniques and we critique some in-car videos. \nLunch is included at Kelly’s Bleachers about 11am. \nAnnual SCCA membership is NOT required\, a weekend membership is included in the price.
